Design for the cleaning and docking routine
Cleaning appliances, personal-care devices and small household equipment may experience droplets, detergent residue and frequent cable handling. Select materials and sealing boundaries from the actual exposure rather than a generic waterproof label.
Charging bases, detachable leads and service-data connections should each have a defined scope. Base guidance and connector positioning may need to be developed together.
Smart-home project input checklist
- Device and base drawings, mounting surfaces, alignment guides and mating motion.
- Supply voltage, continuous and peak current, polarity, thermal limits and protection.
- Cleaning fluids, temperatures, frequency, ingress state and environmental conditions.
- Cable length, jacket, softness, exit direction, bending and release-force requirements.
- Any status, identification or service-data function and the associated pin assignment.
Test the assembly after realistic handling
Agree the applicable ingress, corrosion, pull, bending, continuity and temperature/humidity checks for the project. Reports should state installation, sample revision and acceptance limits. Cable-only results must not be presented as appliance-level compliance.

No. The receptacle, housing, seals, installation and cable interface all affect the assembled ingress boundary.
Can the charging base and cable be developed together?
Yes, the agreed scope can include mating geometry, guides, support, pin assignment and assembled sample verification.
What cleaning information should be provided?
Identify the fluid or cleaner, concentration, temperature, frequency and expected exposure state before material selection and testing.
