A magnetic connector consists of the contact set (Pogo Pin or spring contact), insulating housing, magnet or magnetic steel ring, metal housing or shield, and the cable termination. Whether the magnet interferes with signals depends on field strength, distance and signal type: power and low-speed signals are basically unaffected, while high-speed differential pairs, Hall sensors, electronic compasses and magnetic encoders need evaluation.
Common practice is to keep the magnet away from sensitive traces, add shielding or a magnetic return path, and verify by measurement. During design we review the magnetic layout together with the contact layout so that retention, mating feel and signal integrity are balanced before tooling.
