A magnetic connector is a separable interface that uses magnets for alignment and retention while metal contacts carry power or signals. When attached, the contacts are pressed by springs and conduct; when pulled apart they separate automatically, giving one-hand blind mating and pull-away protection: if the cable is caught, the interface releases first instead of dragging the device off the table.
It is not the same as wireless charging. In a magnetic interface the current still flows through metal contacts with milliohm-level contact resistance, delivering high efficiency, high-current fast charging and simultaneous signal transmission. Wireless charging transfers energy by coil coupling without contacts, but with lower efficiency and noticeable heat, and generally supplies power only. Both may show a round alignment feature, yet their working principles, structures and validation items are completely different.
