When a magnetic connector attaches but does not charge, work through four checks in order: pin map and polarity, contact compression and cleanliness, voltage drop under load, then identification and in-place signals.
Most field cases come from insufficient compression: a weakened magnet, a housing tolerance stack or a worn contact reduces the contact pressure, resistance rises, and the device sees undervoltage and stops charging.
Clean the contacts with alcohol, verify the pull-off force, and measure voltage at the device side under load rather than at the charger. If the layout is uncertain, send us the pin map and we will review it.
