A magnetic connector is a separable interface that uses magnets for alignment and retention while metal contacts carry current and signals. It attaches with one hand, releases when pulled, and protects the device from being dragged by the cable.
Structurally it combines spring contacts, an insulating housing, a magnet or steel ring, a shield or shell and the cable termination. Variants include round, racetrack and custom shapes, with 2 to 20 pins and optional waterproof and anti-misinsertion features.
Selection comes down to current, pin definition, available space, mating cycles and environment. Tell us these parameters and we will propose a structure with measured contact resistance and life data.
